Chanel at Marais
There's a reason that Chanel is a label that's spawned a gazillion fakes, and on last week I got to see why. For a little over 3 weeks, Melbourne's premier boutique Marais, is hosting Chanel's very first Australian ephemeral boutique (otherwise known as a pop-up store) and celebrated on Thursday night with a lavish party. Thanks to some fancy work transforming Fancy Hanks American BBQ Restaurant into a perfectly cool Parisian Bistro, chic celebs, it-girl models and big-time influencers mingled, sipping free-flowing champagne. An effortlessly French dinner was served in the bustling bistro, before the roof-top bar beckoned thanks to a performance by The Preatures.
But before getting jiggy with it, we were given a first look at the incredible CHANEL Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’art Ready-to-Wear collection in the beautiful Marais space. From gold-sequinned tuxedos to fire-engine red trademark-tweed trenches, the collection is truly remarkable.
