Italian Beauty Finds

We've all read a million articles on the amazing beauty products you can find in a French pharmacy, but during my recent travels I found a few winners in the Italian pharmacies.

Biafin Emulsion

While I discovered this in Italy (thanks to my man baking himself solid on our first day in Capri), Biafin is actually French it was recommended to us by the pharmacist to combat serious sunburn. It did just that but it also turned out to be one of the best post-sun moisturisers I've ever used, plus it really helped speed up his sunburn recovery time.

Laboratorio Della Farmacia Aloe Gel

Any aloe is good after some time in the sun, but this aloe gel is seriously potent and seriously cooling. I love the gel-cream texture and even though I wasn't burnt, I would use this each day after being in the sun in conjunction with biafin and my tan never looked or lasted better.

Marvis Toothpaste

If the Italians know anything, they know how to make things look good. How many local toothpaste brands look as good as Florentine brand Marvis? Yeah, none. But Marvis is more than just good looks, it's actually really good toothpaste - Aquatic Mint is my fav.

Santa Maria Novella Relax Fluid

Technically Santa Maria Novella may not be a pharmacy as we currently know it, however it is one of Italy's oldest pharmacies still producing their own products using traditional methods founded in Florence. I was initially drawn to their packaging (obviously) but the Relax Fluid is a lightweight body lotion that genuinely leaves my skin feeling hydrated and actually softened. I now douse myself in it after every shower.

Santa Maria Novella Rose Water

With the heat in Italy, my skin was more dehydrated than ever and this rose water was literally like a bottle of water for my face. Unlike many toners, it's super gentle and alcohol-free which means it doesn't strip the skin or leave it feeling tight.
