Going to Print
They say that everything happens for a reason and for me this year, that couldn't be more true. After starting the year on a low having been made redundant from a job that I loved, seven months later I'm sitting here writing this post on one of the biggest highs I can remember. Why? Cos I've just hit the 'publish' button on my online store, where I'm now selling a collection of my travel images as artworks.
Never in a million years would I have expected to be here, doing this. As a self-taught photographer, it's an unbelievable change in pace and focus to try and fathom that someone, somewhere might actually want to put one of your images up on their wall. Why and if they would I'm still not sure, but hopefully someone other than my mum will.
The process required to get this happening has been mammoth and I've really got to thank my beautiful friend Bec for all her help and of course the amazing guys at my art printer.
So as I come out the other side of a fairly major transition phase, I knew it was time to recalibrate and redefine who I am and what I do. So if you do follow me on insta, you'll notice I'm now @dancastano. Don't worry Stylesnooperdan still lives, but just here as a blog - that won't change. I liken it to when I ditched my star_1982@hotmail (that wasn't actually my email, but you know what I mean) email address for something slightly more professional like just my name in the mid 2000's.
Anyway I'm not going to keep waffling on, just like to keep you guys across everything. So go check out my prints and it's Sunday night, have a wine!
