Melbourne, Sephora is Here...
While the rest of the world has enjoyed the beauty benefits of Sephora for years now, here in Melbourne we've not been so lucky. Until now. Melbournians get ready to look better than ever because yesterday Sephora opened it's second Australian store in Melbourne's CBD at Melbourne Central.Streams of people lined up from the early hours of the morning to be some of the first to shop the shiny new store, rewarded with a gift card for their commitment, once the store had opened. With a killer selection of brands including Givenchy, Becca, Ole Henrikson, O.P.I, Make Up For Ever, Dior and a Sephora first Lara Worthington's The Base, the store is set to one of my new favs for beauty bits.
After the feeing of being a kid in a candy store died down a bit, I had a chat with Sephora's National Training Manager Angelique Hogan to find out how the staff keep on top of their product knowledge given the huge amount of brands & products they stock,
"Sephora's training is meticulous. This time around we did a seven week induction for the team where we had over 100 brands come and showcase with us. There's also ongoing training where the brands regularly come back to meet with and update the staff on everything they need to know".
As a qualified makeup artist who worked in cosmetics many moons ago, I can't tell you how happy this made me, as nothing irks me more than staff who don't know their products. Cosmetics & beauty can be tricky so it's good to know the peeps at Sephora will know what they're talking about. While I was chatting with Angelique (who, on a side note, had the most perfect makeup situation going on - flawless skin, immaculate liner and perfect red lips) I was definitely not going to miss the opportunity to find out what her top three must-have Sephora products were:
"Givenchy's Mascara, Sephora Collection's Baked Foundation Powder and Marc Jacobs Lipstick - any colour because they're all amazing and the texture is incredible!".
All of which I immediately added to basket. So anyway, after a good wander around and giving the store the once-over, I can safely assure you that it's awesome and you'll love it and you need to go in and see it for yourself. Right now. Off you go.
