The 2015 Grammys Red Carpet

The great thing about the Grammys as opposed to say the Oscars or the Globes, is not only that the celeb guest list is that much more interesting but the celebs who do attend really give it a red hot crack at outdoing everyone else. While looking 'classic' and 'stunning' is the desired outcome for an Oscars look, the desired outcome for a Grammys look is 'fierce' and 'front page' hence the funner (I know thats not a word, but meh) , racier and usually more disastrous looks that we end up with on the Grammys red carpet. This year is no exception. Lets go...Black was the colour of the night and all my besties opted for noir numbers bar just one. Best dressed for me this year has to be Gwen Stefani in Atelier Versace. I'm obsessed with this strapless sculpted situation and really into Gwen sans red lip too, winning all round 9/10. I can't go past Beyonce in her sparkly black custom Proenza Schouler gown either, she slots nicely into second place with extra points for a-la-natural hair and make up, 8/10. Third place goes to Riri in her pink bouffant Giambattista Valli despite the resemblance to a doll toilet roll cover that my nan still has from the 60's. I give it points for being different, completely unexpected and a bit weird: 7.5/10.Just missing out on the top 3 is (unexpectedly) ball breaking Miley, who looks shizz hot in slinky black Alexandre Vauthier. Hair is a let down though, slicked back and blah #growitout 7/10.

Other babes in black include Nicki Minaj in plunging Tom Ford 7/10, Ciara in bird esk Alexandre Vauthier 6/10, Jessie J in mediocre Ralph and Russo 5/10, Nicole Kidman in a Mugler mini 7.5/10 (great lob too) and Giulana Rancic perfect in an Inbal Dror onesie 8/10. I'm apparently really into the pants this awards season.

Now we can't not talk about Madge can we, because honestly, whats going on here? You see I, of all people have Madges back, but here's what I have to say to her: 'It's time you went into your next phase of reinvention and come out your age, because the red carpet 'stunts' are a bit done and you're better than ending up in a pity party, so c'mon. Pull your head in' 3/10.

Now, the Wests! Woop! Kim K debuted her new lob (you know, the one everyones been doing for a while now) and teamed it with a super sparkly glitzy Jean Paul Gaultier Couture jacket gown and while I didn't hate it, it just didn't feel natural. It's an amazing piece but not at it's best on Kimmie, it swamped her, 5.5/10. Sorry.Rita Ora on the other hand looked like she woke up in her silver sparkle arkle, 8/10 and Lady Gaga, well she just looked uncomfortable, weird posing let her down to a meesly 6/10 and Katy Perry did alright considering she normally goes for that 'walking cartoon character' look. Silver dangly bits, weird hemline and all, I'm gonna throw her a 6/10 too.

Swifty always steals some carpet limelight and usually for her beige boring looks, so it was nice to see her live on the edge with pink shoes which made an otherwise prom night mess, half decent. Hair stayed in beige town though, so points lost there. 5/10. Iggy & Jen Huddo in skintight colour round out the red carpet with a fair 5.5 and 6 out of 10 respectively and mainly due the underwhelmingness of their dresses. Yawn.

Anyway, that about takes us out. so adieu until the oscars in a few weeks...
