The seventies trend is definitely still hanging around, with some embracing it in it's full retro glory, while others are just taking simple style notes from the Charlies Angels era. The most notable and seemingly most adopted piece is definitely the flare, with eveyone and anyone giving a red hot go but like any major statement piece, there's a good way and a not so good way to wear it, so I've pulled together my tips for the flare this season.1. Get the fit right - Try and find a pair that fit nice and snug around the hips & thighs (not legging like though). The flare itself needs to start somewhere below the knee and then bell out significantly wider all the way to the ground.

2. Balance with basics - To avoid looking like you're headed to 70's themed costume party, pair your flare back with basic modern styles likes tees, chunky knits and shirts. Fringing might seem tempting, but just don't do it.

3. Crop flares for shorties - If you'e a shorty (like me) go for a crop flare, that shows the ankle with a pair of heels. Marg Zhang shows us below why the shape still looks killer.

4. Bootleg jeans are not flares - If you're nervous about a flare don't be fooled into thinking a bootleg is a good way to ease into the style; because they're not and they're still probably one of the most unflattering denim shapes going around. If you're gonna try a flare, get a real one.
